The ‘Love Your Style’ Vintage + Art Mixer, Workshop and Fashion Show
For all lovers of vintage, style and art you won’t want to miss this!
This event is a vibrant collaboration where you can explore one of kind art, vintage pieces, antiques, upcycled clothing, and so much more! Vendors will pop up in the Erie Art Museum and The Dollhouse. Inspired by Art’Style Workshop, lead by Liz (Love Your Style), will be held in the Museum classroom.

Found: A Sculptural Workshop
Join current exhibiting artist Cheryl Capezzuti (111th Annual) in an artist talk in the Holstein Gallery from 1-2pm; followed by a workshop creating small sculptures using found materials like notes, receipts, dryer lint, and other bits of daily life ephemera! Come ready to empty your pockets and get whimsical.

Mid Day Art Break
The popular summer concert series on the Dana & Pete Zaphiris Family Patio is back again! August’s musical act is Savage Daughter and ILP Snack Shack will be there too! Admission is free. This event will be held rain or shine and will move indoors to the Holstein Gallery in the event of inclement weather.

In this class, participants will explore various adaptive mediums such as movement, drawing, painting, and poetry to find new ways of self-expression and PLAY alongside talented and passionate teacher, Sara Fisher. Catalog Release Party: Associated Artists of Pittsburgh
Join the Erie Art Museum and Associated Artists of Pittsburgh as we celebrate the release of the 111th Annual Exhibition catalog on Saturday, August 9th, from 11 am – 1 pm. The catalog features images of all the artworks on view, as well as identifying information. Guests to the event will receive a free copy of the exhibition catalog, alongside a chance to meet many of the exhibiting artists. Light refreshments and snacks will be served. Free with Museum admission or membership.

Bring color to State Street and join local muralist Raeann Krugger (@raeanntheartist) to add the finishing touches to the new mural adorning the Customs House construction barrier!

Family Friendly Alternative Photography: Sun Printing on Fabric
This is one of 3 family-friendly workshops exploring aspects of alternative photography! On August 23rd Create your own canvas tote – perfect for your local farmer’s market haul! This demonstration will explain how to apply the Cyanotype Process to textile goods. Participants will print their own compositions on bandanas and bags while learning application methods and tips for successful sun-printing.

Week 1: AmeriMasala Creative Workshop
This workshop will give participatns the opportunity to construct, build, and create costumes, masks, and giant puppets with guidance from teaching artists at the Erie Art Museum to participate in this year’s AmeriMasala.

Illustrative Portrait Drawing Workshop
This playful, welcoming class is open to all—no prior drawing experience required. Through prompts and exploratory exercises, participants will learn the basics of portrait drawing while experimenting with creative expression. Using a mix of media, line styles, proportions, and symbols, you’ll be guided to reimagine the portrait as a way to create playfully and communicate beyond realism.

Scratch Block Aluminum Casting Workshop - (Full)
Kentucky based artist Garry Bibbs will lead students through the process of creating an aluminum sculpture. Join us as we carve designs into a sand-resin block then fill the mold with molten aluminum to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

World Refugee Day
Join us in celebrating World Refugee Day with dance, music, and vendors from Erie’s Nepali-Bhutanese, Ukrainian, Iraqi, Afghan, Syrian, Congolese, Burundi, and South Sudanese communities. This event is part of Erie Downtown Partnership’s Perry Square Summer Concert Series with support from the City of Erie, the EAM, Catholic Charities, the Multicultural Resource Center, the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, and Erie Arts and Culture. We are proud partners in hosting this event for a second year. First Class: Youth Drawing
Students will learn foundational drawing skills such as line work, shading, and composition, while exploring creative methods beyond traditional techniques. Each day will feature different subjects like still life, portraits, and nature, using a variety of mediums. This class is intended for students age 13—17.

Spring Show Artists Talk
Join us for a PechaKucha-style artist talk with the 102nd Annual Spring Show award winners on Wednesday, June 11th, at 6 pm in the Holstein Gallery. Participating artists include juror awardees Lorena Alvaraz Toca, Daniel Austin, Bill Miller, Judy Takacs, and Madison Webster.
PechaKucha is a storytelling format where a presenter shows 20 PowerPoint slides for 20 seconds each. Artists will discuss aspects of their artistic work, and guests can ask the artists questions after each presentation. Free with Museum admission or membership.
